About Me

Welcome to my little blog

My name is Julie, I’m 49 and I am a book addict. Seriously, it is a severe and untreatable problem, hence the name of my blog. However, since it is not a vice that is dangerous in any way other than to my bank balance, I’m not too worried.

I am a compulsive book buyer and hoarder. I have books in my library dating back to my childhood that are over 40 years old. Speaking of my library, would you like to see a photo? It was the one room I insisted on including when we built our house 15 years ago.(Warning, you will be green with envy!)

As you can see, reading is and always has been an integral part of my life and I take it seriously.

I have now been book blogging for four years, and my blog has grown in popularity and ambition during that time. As well as book reviews, I now host three interview features, frequent guest posts and sometimes post about non-book-related topics. In 2020, I was named as the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Media Star of the Year for this blog, which was a huge and unexpected honour.

Aside from reading, I love to travel and do it as often as possible. I have been to a lot of interesting places and have many, many more on my bucket list. The world is vast and fascinating and I’d like to see as much of it as time and money will allow.

I am also currently attempting to write my own novel and am a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association New Writers’ Scheme. My author website can be found here.

I have one partner, two daughters and three step-daughters, two dogs, two cats and three horses. I cannot promise that posts on these topics and other musings that occur to me will not appear alongside the book reviews.

I hope you will enjoy my ruminations and I look forward to getting to know you.
